This year, the WindFestival moves to the beautiful city of Andora, in the province of Savona but still in the Riviera dei Fiori, from September 28th to October 1st.
The WindFestival, the largest Expo in Italy dedicated to sea and wind action sports, will present its twelfth edition in Andora on the seafront and the beach. Activities will include regattas, competitions, excursions inland, introductory courses for beginners, lessons with free equipment trials, and sessions with the best professional athletes. Once again, the WindFestival will give ample space to adaptive disciplines within the Paralympic area.
After the news conclusion of the collaboration with the municipality of Diano Marina, the organizers of the WindFestival, Valter Scotto and Andrea Ippolito from TF7 Open Sport A.S.D., received several proposals from municipalities of the Riviera dei Fiori but also from Sardinia, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna and Sicily. Being the time limited and to avoid logistical difficulties, the choice fell this year on the beautiful city of Andora which showed remarkable readiness and enthusiasm from its administration.
This shows the desire to promote the Andora area as a destination for water and outdoor sports in the long term. Andora is already a very popular destination for surfing, windsurfing, kite, wing, and sailing. The WindFestival will become the engine that will accelerate this trend.
The organization is now working to make an edition even richer in news, including a “Defi Style” regatta, the largest windsurfing regatta in the world held annually in Gruissan, France, and the final stage of the Italian WING FOIL championship which will also serve as a qualification for the next Olympic Games.
